Reading on Trains
Reading makes the spaces between places bearable. I love fantasy but fell into reading Murakami’s books in high school. Contemporary fiction with a surrealist edge to them. Many of his characters are isolated in their own way. I don’t read too much of his work in one go because it makes me feel melancholic. I think YA can be just as dark as adult fiction but more hopeful in some ways....
